Introduction

The Subscriber Later Binding plugin connects the inputs of subscribing IEDs to the data that other IEDs publish. It does this for GOOSE and for sampled values (SV), in an SCL file that uses later binding.

An input is an ExtRef element with an internal address (intAddr). The plugin does not show ExtRef elements without an internal address. The published data is an FCDA element in the data set of a control block. When you subscribe an input, the plugin writes the source of the data into the ExtRef.

1. What the plugin does

  • It subscribes and unsubscribes inputs for GOOSE and SV.

  • It adds and removes the supervision logical nodes (LGOS and LSVS) for each control block.

  • It checks the data type before it subscribes an input. It uses the preconfigured attributes of IEC 61850-6 Edition 2.1 when they are available.

  • It shows the common data class (CDC) and the basic type of the data.

  • It has a fast search and filters for each list.

  • It copies a list as Markdown, for reports and test records.

  • It works with companion plugins, which subscribe more inputs for some manufacturers.

2. Two views

You can work from the publisher or from the subscriber. The two views show the same subscriptions.

Publisher view

You select published data, then you click the inputs that subscribe to it. Use this view to send the same data to many IEDs.

Subscriber view

You select an input, then you click the published data for it. Use this view to configure all the inputs of one IED.

3. Limits

  • The plugin subscribes data attributes only. You cannot subscribe an input to a data object.

  • The plugin is for IEC 61850 Edition 2 and later. It does not support Edition 1 devices.
